The Rt Hon Sir Jeremy Hanley KCMG

With class cut short to hear Sir Jeremy Hanley speak, I arrived at the MSU Union a few minutes late, but lucky. Though I was tardy, so was the program. The program was scheduled to start at 10:00 am, but didn’t get going until around 10:15 am. The lecture was a part of The 2008 Gerald A. Favreman Lecture, and sponsored by the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research at Michigan State University.
Sir Jeremy Hanley was then introduced by Douglas B. Roberts, Ph.D, who was the director of the event. Hanley is currently on numerous boards of directors for many international businesses. His topic of interest was the relationship between the UK and USA. Through telling jokes he told of his experiences on the different boards he has been a part of. A very humorous man, he has been involved in things such as peacemaking in Northern Ireland to leading business delegations in advancing commercial interests in India and the Middle East.
Unfortunately time worked against me, and I was forced to leave at 10:50 due to work. I believe that because of my early departure, I missed the meat of his lecture. But during my stay, I must say that Sir Jeremy Hanley, KCMG was very pleasant to hear speak with his sense of humor.
